The Adventure of a Lifetime

As I walked out the door for JFK, I had a million emotions running through me. There were tears in my eyes from saying goodbye to my cats and boyfriend for 2 weeks, excitement in my smile, and sweat dripping down my face from lugging all of my bags - you can’t take packing lightly when you are traveling to the fashion capital of the world! Once we landed in Paris and I walked out of the airport, I took a breath of the fresh European air and my soul was enlightened.

I’m not sure if I was high on life or  the fact that I hadn’t slept in about 20 hours, but that 30 minute cab ride from the airport to the hotel was the most exiting ride I had ever taken. I was like a happy dog hanging out a window - taking in the scenery everywhere I could. I glance to my left and there are timeless ivory buildings enrobed in vibrant floral arrangements. I knew the next two weeks in France with my parents would be the trip of a lifetime - and I was absolutely right!

A few things I noticed were how happy and friendly the waitstaff was in restaurants. They get paid a salary so they are not forced to rely on their tips to survive. Retail workers also get paid salary which was so nice to walk into a store and not be hounded by the sales person. All of the people in France were genuinely happy, and it

shows that they take pride where they live by how clean and well-maintained they keep their country.

Linda was the perfect guide in every way, especially exposing us to the lifestyle they live. She gave us tips on properly greeting someone, how to eat certain foods, how we should tip in restaurants, being able to spot pick-pocketers, and so much more. She was very sweet and always had a smile on her face. I always felt comfortable asking her questions, and the entire trip I felt like I was in good hands. I hope I get to tour France in the future with Linda, it wouldn't be the same without her!

Everywhere we went whether it was a quaint countryside café or the Louvre in Paris, I not only felt welcomed and accepted by the locals, I also felt like I belonged in France. I was excited to wake up every day to experience a new town with new friendly people to meet.

I strongly encourage anyone who has been pondering with the idea of France to go and witness the beauty for yourself - check out all of the tour info and see what you are missing!
